I’m from Calicut and may be called a ‘biriyani freak’. Rahmath, Topform and Paragon will be on my top 3 list respectively. But with all due respect, biriyani in Mezban is overrated. It’s not one of the best. Biriyani in Bombay Hotel doesn’t have the taste value it once had. And Topform Hotel’s biriyani is better than Sagar Hotel’s. So atleast the list could’ve gone Rahmath, Paragon, Topform, and so on. I’ve had Biriyani from Thalassery. It’s not bad but the hidden truth is, they are overrated. They only come near to the taste value of biriyani in Calicut. And finally, taste is subjective. But Mr. VK Nair, biriyani of Azad restaurant in TVM is also overrated. It doesn’t get anywhere near to the biriyani of the three main restaurants in Calicut.
