About Alleppey
Alleppey, officially known as Alappuzha, is a coastal town in Kerala best known for its interconnected backwaters, canals, lagoons and stretches of paddy fields. The waterways around the town connect with Vembanad Lake and support traditional boat travel, fishing and everyday village life. Visitors can experience the backwaters on houseboats, shikara boats and smaller country boats, often passing through coconut-lined canals and the farming landscapes of Kuttanad.
